Scan to BIM – Restoration and Conservation
DECEMBER 18, 2013
AIA CES: 1 LU / PDH HSW
Using Autodesk essentials we’ll provide some engaging visuals and an introduction to laser scanning, processing, post processing, indexing and establishing your point cloud in the Revit model. You’ll see how hybrid views can be used to display areas of deficiencies; and get advice on visibility graphics, clipping boxes and modeling techniques. Perhaps most importantly, learn how to use in applications to the Landmarks Preservation Commission, Building Department, owner or building management, Finally see how the point clouds can be used for fabrication of historically significant elements–terracotta cornices, building ornamentation, and more.
